AUSTRALIAN POETRY

The Australian idiom is explored in a presentation of performance poetry that expresses a variety of voices both linguistically and culturally. Students participate in an interactive workshop with the actors to take away ideas to write their own poetry.

Poems easily lend themselves to a range of classroom exercises; forms include ballads, free and comic verse, spoken word and rap using a broad range of poetic devices.

All performances are followed by a Q&A with the actors. Company members have broad knowledge of poetry and storytelling and can lead discussion on style and content.
